The order of this shed from Backyard Escape Studios can only be described as seamless from beginning to end. They emailed photos to document the sheds progress as parts were prepared along the way.  The delivery and installation was impeccable, the shed beautiful and modern. Normally you don’t think of a shed as a centerpiece to your backyard but this shed is truly a showstopper.

The shed is a delight, looks great and is very functional. Backyard Escapes did a great job from design, delivery, installation and on time.  Their sheds are expensive but of great quality and to my mind worth the expense. All their joints and corners are well sealed with no room for rodents to enter. I have now had the Backyard Escape shed for about 6 months and their is no evidence of rodents. I would recommend them to anyone.

We will compile a detailed quote for you and your project, giving you the option to change, remove, or add certain elements to give you the shed that will most match your vision while staying within your budget.

Sketch and Fine Design

We will create a personal 3D sketch for your desired project to help you better visualize the completed structure. This is your opportunity to make sure it perfectly matches your vision and make any changes to colour choices, siding options, and windows and door selection.

Pre-fabrication

Our team in the shop will construct as many elements of your build as possible before we arrive to ensure a quick and seamless installation on site. Photo updates of your build can be sent during the process if desired.

Delivery and Installation

Our install team will arrive bright and early with all the tools and materials required to complete your studio or shed. Once the structure is complete the crew leader will do a walkthrough with you to show you how your structure works, give you general maintenance guidance, and answer any questions you may have about your new structure. 

Things to Consider When Designing Your Shed

Structure Footprint
Footprint Size
Our standard sizes are for ease of production and reduced cost. Custom sizes are available to ensure your garden shed meets all of your needs. We build the majority of our sheds under 160 square feet. This is the allowable size for an accessory structure before you require a permit. If you're looking to build a shed or studio above 160 square feet we can provide engineered drawings and help you through the permit process.
Doors and Windows
Doors and Windows
Our most common door is a modern sliding barn door with three Lexan glass inserts. Upgrades to standard swing doors, French doors, or patio sliding doors are available for all structures. We offer standard vinyl windows, or to save on cost we offer pine-framed windows with Lexan glass panels. There are many options available to give your shed more natural light.
Steel and Pine Siding
Siding
Since the beginning of Backyard Escape Studios, we have been using steel as our main siding choice. The steel helps keep your walls rigid and square, and you won't have to worry about rodents burrowing into your shed. Our high-quality Canadian steel is as maintenance-free as you can get. It will last decades with no fading or rust. For our front wall, we use tongue and groove pine, but we do offer ship lap pine and cedar options as well. Check out our Style Guide and our Steel Colour Sheet for some ideas on how to design the siding portion of your structure.
Foundation Types
Foundation
There are many ways of building a foundation for your shed. We believe that concrete pads offer the best quality foundation solution and recommend these first. We understand a concrete pad might not be affordable for everyone. We can work with patio stones, interlock stones, gravel pads, concrete, earth screws, and more. We also offer sub-floors to accommodate more cost-effective foundations available in your area.

Our garden sheds can be as unique as your backyard. Your choice of windows, doors, and siding will change the price of your final product. Our prices are on the pages for each model. We keep a record of past projects, so if you see something in our gallery we can provide an accurate estimate. When you contact us provide us with as much information as you can about your ideas. This will help us provide a general price range of what your shed may cost. From there we can provide a sketch and guidance in your selections to help keep you within your budget. We aim to provide a solution for everybody.
How do I purchase a shed or studio? 
Fill out our contact form or give us a call and provide us with as much information as you can, including your full address (to calculate transportation costs), backyard accessibility (to determine how much needs to be assembled onsite), and detailed ideas of what you envision your shed to look like (size, style, etc.) With this information, we can provide a detailed quote. Delivery time depends heavily on the design of the shed, as well as window and door choices.
